Jenny Hagel is an Emmy-nominated TV writer and comedy performer in New York City. She is a writer/performer on Late Night with Seth Meyers (NBC), where she created the recurring segment "Jokes Seth Can't Tell," which New York Magazine called "the best segment in late night."
Jenny also served as Head Writer/Executive Producer of The Amber Ruffin Show, which was nominated for an Emmy in its very first year on the air. Other writing credits include the Golden Globe Awards, Impractical Jokers, and Big Gay Sketch Show.
Jenny is known for her ability to address serious topics on camera in a funny and heartfelt way. She's been nominated for two GLAAD Awards for her work addressing LGBTQ issues on TV. And one time, after she did a piece on Late Night about Trump's anti-Latinx rhetoric, a woman stopped Jenny on the street and said, "We Puerto Ricans have to stick together. Nice to meet you -- I'm J Lo's mom." That's a real story. (Jenny can't believe it, either.)
Jenny has an MFA in Writing for Screen and Stage from Northwestern University. In 2022, she signed an overall deal with Universal Television. And in 4th grade, she won the Perfect Attendance Award.
